International Efforts

WSPA

The World Society for the Protection of Animals, an affiliate of the MSPCA, has brought emergency aid to animals during floods, earthquakes, explosions, famines, oil spills, and wars all over the world and has built up a reputation as a world leader in this field.

WSPA history began when the MSPCA, together with England's Royal SPCA, founded the International Society for the Protection of Animals (ISPA). In 1981, ISPA merged with the World Federation for Animal Protection, which changed its name to World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). Worldwide, the MSPCA provides WSPA with veterinary care, medicine, books - even emergency funding through the President's Fund.
