The American Fondouk Blog
Volunteering his time, Angell Animal Medical Center’s board-certified ophthalmologist Dr. Dan Biros is aiding the animals of Morocco at the American Fondouk. At Angell, Dr. Biros’ work involves ophthalmic examination including specialized testing for cataracts, glaucoma, retinal diseases and ocular inflammation. He performs routine veterinary eyelid procedures and intraocular surgeries such as cataract removal regularly.
Administered by the MSPCA, the American Fondouk works to bring people-to-people foreign aid on behalf of and through animals by providing free veterinary care, guidance on proper nutrition and handling, and compassionate care for the animals of Morocco and their owners. The Fondouk is a full-service animal hospital treating 50 to 100 animals a day, more than 22,000 annually. The hospital is staffed by a resident veterinarian, a blacksmith, and eight other employees.
Join Dr. Biros as he recounts the days of treating the animals of Morocco by clicking on the blog entries below. Visit www.fondouk.org to learn more about this unique veterinary hospital.
