BOSTON, June 21, 2013 – The MSPCA-Angell today announced it has added to its growing roster of awards and distinctions by winning the Readers Choice Award from top New England publishing company Wicked Local. During a full month of online voting, Wicked Local readers selected winners across 75 categories representing non-profits, operating companies and government agencies, and the MSPCA-Angell took the top prize for its animal welfare and veterinary services programs.
The Readers Choice Award adds to a compilation of honors the MSPCA has already won, such as a recent Boston A-List Award. The organization was also honored in 2011 by Internet marketing research firm Craigsconnect for successfully leveraging social media to advance its mission to safeguard animals. “We’re honored to receive this award from Wicked Local and it is particularly validating to know that everyday readers voted us the winner,” said Rob Halpin, Director of Public Relations, MSPCA-Angell.
