5th Graders at Brimmer and May School Make Cat Beds!
March 15, 2012

The Brimmer and May 5th graders worked very hard over the course of a couple of months to sew large fleece cat beds for the available cats at the MSPCA. They worked alone or with a parter to create their works of art. Most students had little or no sewing experience, so the teachers worked with each student to learn how to make correct stitches. The students also learned about the MSPCA and the wonderful work that the shelter does, and the reasons why there are so many cats/kittens available for adoption. The students were very excited to create soft, comfortable beds that would enrich the lives of many homeless cats!
