Eagle Scout builds benches for dog walkers at MSPCA Nevins Farm
January 7, 2013

Joseph G, a North Andover Eagle Scout, shares the story behind his creative and industrious final project:

"My Eagle Scout project involved building and installing four park benches at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm. Two of the benches are placed in large dog pens and the other two are placed in the dog walking area. The benches allow potential dog adopters and volunteers to sit down and get to know each dogs' personality and begin a relationship with the dog. I raised over $1500 through donations from 8 local businesses and a few generous families. The money went toward purchasing building materials and other supplies needed to complete the project. The benches were built under my direction with the help of 19 other scouts and adults from my troop: Boy Scout Troop 81 in Topsfield, MA. They were installed around Thanksgiving and are there now waiting for your visit!"
