Westford girl saves and donates in honor of Lent
April 19, 2013

10-year-old Colleen H. loves animals.  For Lent this year, she gave up candy and snacks, and instead spent that money to purchase items for the animals at Nevins Farm.  Also in the spirit of giving, she asked  friends & family to donate items as well.  By the time Easter arrived, she had collected quite a large amount!  With money she got for Easter, she bought even more items.  Altogether, she was able to collect and purchase food, toys, treats, a large dog bed, towels & blankets, and carrots & apples (for the horses!).

This is Colleen's second year hosting the fundraiser and she hopes to make it an annual tradition!

Thanks for all your hard work, Colleen!
