One of the young adults in Logan’s family (formerly Elvis) surrendered him to the MSPCA because his father didn’t want a dog that would grow to be big. Luckily, Logan was adopted by his forever family less than two weeks later.
When walking Logan, the question we always hear is “What kind of dog is he?”
Once we respond and say that he’s a pit bull, we always know what the next question will be….”Why a pit bull?”
We know that pit bulls have a bad rap, but when raised properly you have an excellent dog. We do have a lot of critics but 98% of the time we change their minds and hearts about pit bulls once they meet Logan.
We were looking for the right dog for over a year and finally decided that it was time once we met Elvis! We met Elvis at the end of April and had him home with us a week later. When we first became interested in Elvis, everyone at the MSPCA thought we were crazy since he wasn’t like the other pit bulls. We wanted a dog that was energetic yet relaxed and could go everywhere with us. They didn’t think that Elvis would be up to our energetic lifestyles since he was a shy, mellow, and very lazy pup. After playing with him and getting to know him we realized that there was much more to him and he was right for us. Once we adopted Elvis, we had to change his name to a more suitable fit and we called him Logan.
We have had Logan since May and everyday we learn something new about him and ourselves. Logan enjoys being in the woods, playing Frisbee, and meeting new dogs on our walks. We are very happy and proud to say that we own a pit bull.
