My girlfriend and I are from New Jersey and went to Boston to celebrate the 4th of July with our friend Allie, who works at the MSPCA. Allie gave us a tour of the MSPCA and one of the last stops was the dog shelter. Being dog lovers, my girlfriend and I went in to see the dogs and give them some treats. While walking around, we came across Diesel. The last thing we planned for was to adopt another dog. At first glance, this 80-pound, large-headed, pit-mix seemed intimidating, but we quickly realized he was the mellowest dog with the droopiest, saddest eyes. We decided we would take him out to play in one of the runs. After Diesel drooled all over us and decided to roll around like a pig in mud we were sold on his goofy nature! The following weekend we drove back up from New Jersey with our dog Bailey, also an adopted pit-mix, to meet Diesel and bring him home.
Diesel has been a part of our family for about 3 months now and we couldn’t be happier. Diesel and Bailey get along like they’ve known each other forever. They play together, go for walks together, sleep snuggled up together, and are for the most part inseparable. It’s hard to tell who is more spoiled! All in all, Diesel has evolved into the happiest, most appreciative dog. His happy go lucky personality really shows to its fullest now that he is a part of our family. From our experience, pit bulls are the most wonderful, caring, intelligent, loving, and loyal dogs there are, which is why we even considered adopting another one in the first place. Diesel has been the best, unexpected addition to our family and completes the dynamic perfectly.
