Cat Room Monitor

AVAILABILITY: Tuesday - Friday 2pm-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm
TIME COMMITMENT: One weekly two hour shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Cat room monitors interact with visitors and monitor visitor interactions with adoptable felines while socializing the cats and kittens. Monitors assist visitors with questions regarding adoptions and work to ensure the cleanliness of each cat cage in the adoption room. Monitors ask people to refrain from improperly handling or antagonizing the cats. Monitors help reduce the transmission of disease between animals and help members of the public find the animal that is the best match for them. 
QUALIFICATIONS: checkmark Outgoing and friendly personality.
checkmark Good customer service skills.
checkmark Physical requirements - repetitious bending and lifting, and exposure to various cleaning agents.
checkmark Ability to professionally represent MSPCA and our policies when interacting with the public.
checkmark This position has a high level of animal contact. Affinity for cats a must!
TRAINING REQUIRED: All volunteers must attend a two hour volunteer orientation before starting their position. The orientation covers each of the volunteer positions at the MSPCA Adoption Center in detail, and explains the overall objectives of the MSPCA as an organization. After completing the initial volunteer orientation we will schedule your initial volunteer training shift where you will be paired  with an experienced volunteer to help show you the ropes. Additional training is offered, but not mandatory.
