Latest Happenings in the Methuen Medical Suite

Welcome to the blog for the Methuen Medical Suite at Nevins Farm!  A lot of our visitors don’t realize that we have a veterinary team on site to treat surrendered animals and provide them with preventative care and spay/neuter surgeries.  With a team of three amazing veterinarians, two skilled and compassionate vet techs, and a handful of committed volunteers, we are able to provide a unique service to our surrendered animals.

Upon hearing about our veterinary team, community members sometimes ask if they can bring their pet to us for routine care or discount surgeries.  While we are thrilled to be able to offer services to our shelter animals, we simply don’t have the staff available to offer regular services to the public.  To learn more about special programs we offer several times a year for non-shelter animals, visit our Methuen Medical Suite webpage.

This blog offers insight into the regular—and less common—cases our vet team treats each week.  Sometimes animals are surrendered in perfectly healthy condition, and sometimes they are in need of special care, whether that be blood work and a dental cleaning for geriatric animals, or a special surgery or treatment plan for animals who are suffering from otherwise preventable illnesses.  The old adage “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” is as true with our companion animals as it is with us.

We are proud to be able to help animals in need, and grateful for the resources of other local veterinarians who assist us in treating our surrendered animals.  If you are interested in the Methuen Medical Suite’s “latest happenings”, we invite you to read out blog regularly!  And if you would like to contribute financially to help our vet team treat even more animals in need, please consider donating to our special medical funds, “Angels for Animals” and “Ashton’s Hope Fund.”
