"Starting Your Own Backyard Flock" Lecture

Please join the MSPCA at Nevins Farm for these special lecture and practicum events!

This program is intended for animal professionals, farm bird enthusiasts, and members of the public who want to learn more about caring for and establishing a backyard poultry flock.  Practicums will offer a unique opportunity for hands-on learning in the Nevins Farm chicken coop.

Lecture topics covered will include how to establish a successful flock, nutrition and housing, free roaming flocks, basic handling and safety.  The lecture will be presented by Pam Nixon, Assistant Barn Manager at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm.

Practicums:  Saturday, March 7

                   All practicums will take place at the chicken coop at Nevins Farm from 10am - 1pm


Registration costs for the lecture is $20, $10 for the practicum.  The practicum is capped at 6 attendees for each date and requires pre-registration online.
