Effective Ground Work is key to any training program for both green and seasoned horses. It develops a deeper communication with your horse, improves their understanding of and responsiveness to cues and pressure, is an effective and safe way to deal with behavioral issues and is indispensable for teaching them proper movement and keeping them conditioned and well muscled.
Long lining has been described as the most productive of all ground work. It is not just exercise, but is an important training tool and so much more. Long lining helps establish leadership, improves communication and responsiveness, teaches and refreshes appropriate responses, is a safe way to address behavioral issues and most important of all, it is physical therapy for the horse. It helps achieve and reinforce proper movement and enhance: forward, relaxation, bend, suppleness and allows you and your horse to work on freeing up braces and developing targeted muscle groups.
Participants’ horses will first be long lined by the clinician and then participants will be taught one on one to long line their own horses.

Location: MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844
