Diagnostic Imaging: MRI
Technicians prep a canine patient
Angell’s system, installed in December of 2014, scans patients quickly, thus reducing anesthesia time for the patient and increasing safety. The system delivers high quality images, allowing our doctors to detect smaller and more subtle lesions to enable intervention at earlier stages in the disease process. This MRI also has a wide range of imaging capabilities, allowing our board-certified radiologists to do the following types of studies:
orthopedic (e.g., soft tissue damage to the medial compartment of the shoulder)
abdominal
vascular (e.g., Circle of Willis and portosystemic shunts)
oncologic (e.g., assessing local tumor invasion for vaccines-associated sarcomas in cats)
neurologic

In addition to MRI, our in-house imaging services include radiology, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, nuclear scinitgraphy, and multi-slice CT. The advanced technology at Angell Animal Medical Center, paired with the expertise and compassion of our dedicated specialty staff, ensure a comprehensive approach to the overall health of our patients.
