Advocate for Animals!

The Advocacy Department at the MSPCA works hard to pass animal friendly legislation and policies that make a difference for animals in Massachusetts.

Volunteer projects:

Help Update our Website
We like to keep our pages current, so we can always use volunteers to go through them seeking broken links and outdated information.

Do Some Research
We've got a few animal issues that we could use some help researching.

Help with an Event
We occasionally need help preparing for events (make packets, etc.) and also need help tabling at events from time to time.

Help us Recycle
We have a great volunteer helping us reduce the amount of junk mail we receive, but it's a big project and could use other people to help with this.

Spread the Word
We have new Leaping Bunny brochures to help people choose cosmetic and personal products with ingredients not tested on animals.  Do you know people or places that might like to share these?

Make Humane Purchases
A new website, Cruelty Free Consumer, will donate part of the proceeds from their sales when people click and purchase from our website or email.

Join us on Facebook and Share with your Friends
The Animal Action Team is on Facebook.  Do you "like" us?  If not, please do.  If you do, please share with friends!

Promote the License Plates
Help spread the word about the "I'm Animal Friendly" License Plate run by the Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MSPCA is a member).  These license plates generate funds for spay/neuter programs that control the pet population in Massachusetts. Your role as a volunteer would be to get the information about them in your local vet offices, pet supply stores, or other animal-friendly establishments.

Email advocacy@mspca.org for more information and to express your interest.

Note:
because we are short-staffed, it may take a while for us to review applications and find matches between people and projects.  Please be patient and know that we really appreciate your willingness to help.  If you have questions or want to follow-up with us, email us at advocacy@mspca.org.  Thanks!
