Preventing the Loss of Your PetDog Walking

More than 10 million pets are lost each year. Fifty percent of dogs and 75 percent of cats are without collars and identification tags by the time they arrive at shelters.

Losing a pet can be a stressful experience that doesn't always end in a happy return. Luckily, there are some things you can do beforehand to prevent your pet from becoming lost, and if he does become lost, to ensure a safe and prompt return home.

The Importance of Identification
Your child learned to recite his address and phone number as soon as he could speak. Your car is tagged front and back with a number easily traced to you.  Your name is on your suitcase, bowling ball, office door, mailbox, welcome mat, and family bible. There's an ID card in your wallet in case of an accident that leaves you unconscious.  So why not your pets?
