Melissa Cash, CVT, Dermatology Technician
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Boston University, Melissa worked for several years as an emergency/critical care and dermatology technician at a specialty practice in Santa Barbara, California.

Melissa joined our staff here at Angell Animal Medical Center in 2009 working as a technician in the Emergency/Critical Care department where she provided skilled nursing care to hospitalized patients. Melissa became a member of the Dermatology team in April of 2011. As a dermatology technician, Melissa takes detailed medical histories, performs diagnostic procedures such as skin scrapes and ear cytologies, reviews specimens microscopically, administers intradermal allergy tests, and educates clients in all aspects of the specialty.

Melissa has been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2010 and is a member of the Massachusetts Veterinary Technician Association.

Lesley Evans, CVT  Dermatology Technician
Lesley has been with Angell since June, 2011.  She worked with Angell's General Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology services before finding her place in the Dermatology service.  A 2011 graduate of the North Shore Community College Veterinary Technician program, Lesley found herself in this career path after working in the human medical setting for over five years.  She worked at a rehabilitation hospital in Woburn where she was an occupational therapy rehab assistant, helping and guiding patients through their rehab exercises and routines.  Ready for a change, she decided to follow a longtime desire to work with animals but maintain some contact with the medical world by becoming a veterinary technician.

Lesley has been a Certified Veterinary Technician since December 2011 and is a member of the Massachusetts Veterinary Technician Association.

Jessica Foley, CVT, Dermatology Technician
Jessica  graduated from Mount Ida College with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology in 2006.  After receiving her Certified Veterinary Technician status, she started her career in General Medicine and Specialty Services.  In 2009, Jessica became a vital team member and asset to Angell’s Ophthalmology service for 2 years  before moving to Galway, Ireland where she continued her passion for animal care abroad as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.  Jess enthusiastically returned to Angell when she came back  to her hometown of Boston in January of 2013.

Rachel Garside, CVT, Dermatology Technician
Rachel received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2007. Upon graduating, she started her career as a Veterinary Assistant in a general medicine practice; she then transitioned to Angell’s Inpatient Department.  Once she attained her CVT in 2009 she then moved on to Angell’s Specialty Services working as an Ophthalmology Technician for over 2 years.  After a brief hiatus in order to travel to Spain and Africa she returned to Angell and joined the Dermatology team.  While working at Angell for almost five years, she has continued to develop a strong interest in animal welfare, advocacy, humane animal care, community education and the mission of the MSPCA.
