Description:
Our End of Day Animal Caregiver volunteers provide care to our cats ensuring their living environment remains safe, clean, and as comfortable as possible. Please note this position does not include interacting with dogs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate food, water, and bedding
- Interact and socialize with the animals
- Housekeeping tasks
- Empty trash and recyclables
- Restock food and supplies
- Sort and put away donations
Qualities/Skills:
- Some level of comfort with cats
- Some knowledge of cat body language
- Willingness to clean areas soiled with feces and urine
- Ability to work independently and with other volunteers
- Ability to follow direction & prioritize tasks
- Ability to quickly make good judgements for the safety of the individual, staff, other volunteers, and animals
- Ability to perform physical labor for the durance of the shift and lift and/or pull up to 30lbs
Requirements:
- A commitment of at least six months
- A weekly 2 hour shift on a set day and time
- Attendance at an orientation and on-the-job training
Available shifts:
- Monday: 2:30pm-4:30pm
