Externships for Veterinary Students at Angell West

Angell West, in Waltham, MA, offers 1-6 week externships to interested veterinary students. A wide variety of rotations are available to externs including Avian/Exotic Medicine, Dermatology, Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Urgent Care. Externs are paired with a senior veterinary staff member and participate in clinics, in-patient case management, cage-side rounds, and didactic rounds. Interested externs can spend additional time in clinics each day by observing with an intern on various services.

The program offers an excellent opportunity for those students who wish to observe a busy emergency and referral specialty practice.  The externship also offers the opportunity for those interested in pursuing an internship at Angell West to view the program first hand and speak with our interns and staff doctors.

If you are a veterinary student and you would like more information about the program or would like to request an application, please e-mail Ali Fine at afine@angell.org.
