Rally Obedience

The sport of Rally Obedience or “Rally-O” is a great way to teach your dog new skills and behaviors. You can compete in this sport with any dog, but you don’t have to compete to have fun learning these exercises.

As you teach your dog to spin, walk backwards next to you, drop into a down while you keep moving forward and the like, your dog will develop greater responsiveness as you build your dog’s repertoire of behaviors. From your dog’s point of view, any behavior you teach is a trick. With Rally you’ll increase your dog’s training and have fun in the process.

Prerequisite: Beyond Manners or equivalent or with permission of the Instructor.

Class Schedule: Wednesdays in North Andover

Cost: $140 for 6 weeks

Testimonials:

“Most of the dogs in the class were very enthusiastic jumpers.  I found the time we spent on having a knowing adult (one of the instructors or assistants) approach the dogs and working on less bouncy greetings was very useful, as this is the most frustrating part of taking my dog out in public.” – Margaret & Georgia

“Sue was fantastic.  I’d recommend her classes to anyone. She does a great job personifying the attitude that training can be fun.  I loved her concept of ‘help your dog out.’ It sounds so simple and obvious, but it really has transformed my approach. Sue would sometimes demonstrate what she wanted with one of the dogs, but she mostly worked with the owners.  She clearly was training us. I loved that the classes were varied in terms of games/exercises.  I also loved that Sue frequently asked us if there was anything in particular that we wanted to work on. She was fantastic!” – Mike & Mannie

Important Information:

All dogs attending classes at the North Andover location must be up-to-date on their kennel cough vaccine due to this being a dog daycare and boarding facility. You will be asked to provide proof of this vaccine prior to the start of your class. We require any dog attending class to be free from contagious disease and parasites, up to date on their rabies vaccine and current on all other vaccines per their veterinarian’s recommendation. Should your dog show symptoms of illness (such as coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme lethargy or lack of appetite) within 48 hours of your class, please leave him/her at home to avoid spreading anything to your classmates’ dogs. Even if your dog is unable to attend class, you can still come to see the material presented. This will allow you to keep up with the exercises and jump right back in once your dog is feeling better.
