Donor Spotlight: Phyllis and Gerald Kassels

Phyllis and Gerald Kassels

Longtime donors and enthusiastic supporters of our events, Phyllis and Gerald Kassels have counted on the expertise of Dr. Doug Brum and the wonderful team of veterinary specialists in ophthalmology, dermatology, and dentistry to keep their poodles healthy.  Phyllis says, “We feel so lucky!  We have MGH to take care of us, and Daisy, our four-year-old miniature poodle, has MSPCA-Angell to take care of her.”

The Kassels are sure that their two other poodles, Brandy and Yogi, lived very long lives because of the wonderful medical care they were given at Angell, but they celebrate other parts of our organization as well.  Phyllis continues, “Our Daisy attended the Puppy Play ‘n Learn classes followed by obedience training classes taught by Michalla Bishop and Carol Bradford. She then went on to the Canine Good Citizen (GCG) Prep course. With all this training Daisy was well prepared to pass the CGC test and to achieve the primary goal on her bucket list to become a pet therapy dog.  Today Daisy proudly wears her MGH Pet Therapy Volunteer ID badge where she works every Thursday visiting in hospital patients. Thank you MSPCA-Angell for all that you do!”
