Time: 10:30-4 | Location: State House, Boston, MA
Every spring, hundreds of advocates spend the day at the Massachusetts State House and ask their legislators to push for stronger animal protection laws in the Commonwealth.
For those who’ve never attended, Lobby Day is an exciting opportunity to meet directly with your elected officials about legislation that will significantly impact animals. The day includes awards for legislators who helped animals, a briefing with tips for lobbying your legislators, and an overview of pending animal legislation. This event is always a great way to meet other people who care about animals, too.
To cover the cost of lunch and to help offset Lobby Day costs, there will be a small charge to attend. (A challenge with Lobby Day has been that there are many no-shows on the day of the event; this wastes a lot of resources and, importantly, also reflects poorly on animal advocates when no one shows up for an appointment with a legislator.)
Importantly, we don’t want to discourage anyone from attending or have this cost be a barrier. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend, but the cost would be a hardship. We have a scholarship program to help.
Join the MSPCA and our event partners the ASPCA, the Animal Rescue League of Boston, and the Humane Society of the United States at Lobby Day for Animals!
Thank you Polka Dog Bakery for donating peanut butter dog treats to all attendees for past Lobby Days.
