The Only Emergency Referral Animal Hospital with AAHA Accreditation
Boston, Mass., June 20, 2017 – The MSPCA-Angell West in Waltham announced today that it has received accreditation following a comprehensive evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). The evaluation includes a quality assessment review of the hospital’s facility, medical equipment, practice methods and pet healthcare management.
Only 12 to 15 percent of all small animal veterinary practices in the U.S. have achieved accreditation by AAHA. In order to maintain accredited status, MSPCA-Angell West must continue to be evaluated regularly by the association’s consultants.
Accreditation by AAHA means that an animal hospital has been evaluated on approximately 900 standards of veterinary excellence. To maintain their accreditation, hospitals undergo a rigorous review by veterinary experts every three years.
Established in 1933, the American Animal Hospital Association is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices throughout the United States and Canada for dedication to high standards in veterinary care. Approximately 3,200 AAHA-accredited practices pass regular reviews of AAHA’s stringent accreditation standards that cover patient care, client service and medical protocols.
