Subaru’s Make a Dog’s Day: A Fee-Waived Adoption Event for Underdogs – and cats, smallies, pigs and roosters too!

Adopt an ‘Underdog’!

Subaru’s National Make a Dog’s Day on October 22nd is a celebration of the shelter animals who need our love the most— the older, physically challenged, last-to-be-chosen we lovingly call “the Underdogs.” And thanks to grants from the ASPCA, Atlantic Subaru, Ira Subaru, and Autofair Subaru we’ll be waiving the fees for our Underdogs… and cats, smallies, pigs and roosters too – that weekend! Stop in to any of our adoption centers between 10/20-10/22 to take home your “underdog.”

This event comes as we’re still in the midst of the national dog population crisis and adopters are needed now more than ever – so we can keep saying “yes” and providing a safe space for dogs in desperate need of relocation from shelters at capacity as well as local dogs who need a comfy spot to land while they await a new home.

How to meet an available animal:

• View our adoptable animals! Animals eligible for the adoptathon will be indicated by a star on their profile.
• The event will take place at all four of our adoption centers in Methuen, Boston, Cape and Salem. Check the website to see each location’s open adoption hours and come on in!
• Review our How to Adopt page so you know what to expect. Many of our animals are able to go home with adopters same day, while others may require multiple meets.
• Need supplies such as food, toys, crates, etc? We carry most of the essentials right here in our adoption center.
