More about Georgie:

I’m a young and playful dude, and I’ll make a great companion for another cat, if that cat is looking for a friend. I’ve been worried here at the shelter … my adopter should be prepared for me to need a very slow introduction to my new home. In my previous home I was a shy guy and I avoided all strangers, and was only friendly/solicitous with one special person. My adopter should be prepared to give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable in my new environment prior to starting to make friends with me.

I can be a bit aloof around new people. My adopter will need to keep my world small at first, which means not introducing me to the entire house all at once as soon as I get home. My adopter should plan to manage my introduction to the home, people, and any existing cats slowly to ensure I am always able to move away/retreat/create space if overwhelmed.
I’m very overweight and I struggle to groom myself. My adopter will need to work with their veterinarian to help me safely lose weight so I am able to be healthy and to groom myself. In the meantime, I may need assistance grooming, which will likely involve veterinary assistance. Upon arrival at the shelter I needed sedation to have my matts shaved off.
