Meet Orchid! Orchid is a petite pony mare coming in at 12.1 hands but don’t let her size fool you – she has more than enough personality to make up for her size. At just 4 years old this young lady has tons of potential and could go in any direction with someone who is ready to take their time bringing along a young horse. Orchid will require an adopter who has experience starting young horses and will work closely with a trainer to help continue her progress and evaluate any riding potential. Because of her smaller stature she will need a long build up of ground work and conditioning before she could carry an adult rider to help bring her along. She may also be a good driving pony candidate if you’d prefer to stay out of the saddle.

Orchid has been turned out with both mares and geldings and does like to try to boss some of her friends around. She has learned to respect her elders though and does not need to be top of the herd. Orchid is up to date on vet and farrier care and has completed a basic groundwork evaluation. She is a very curious mare and loves to investigate everything using all of her senses – we just love her inquisitive mind! While she is quite green and still learning basic manners, this sweet girl is ready to find her person who can help her reach her fullest potential! Could that be you?
