Meet Orca! Orca is as sleek, regal, and rare as his given name. Hailing from Martha’s Vineyard, he is the sweetest King of Comfort and his territory is a covered house and a soft blanket. However, he will happily invite you into his kingdom if you’re offering cheek scratches and head pets.

What also makes Orca so rare is that he tested positive for heartworm disease. Heartworm is an uncommon infection in cats and treated differently in cats than in dogs. While there isn’t a treatment for cats with heartworm, Orca is currently on a medication to help with his symptoms. It is necessary for an adopter to have an ongoing relationship with a veterinarian to continue his monitoring and care.
