Surgery Task Force – AM Shift
Description:
Our AM Surgery Task Force volunteers help keep our OR running smoothly by stocking supplies, cleaning high-use areas, and ensuring that our Surgery team has the materials they need throughout the day. Volunteers must first complete a minimum of six months in the hospital to qualify for the AM Surgery role.
Responsibilities:
- Launder scrubs, gowns, surgical towels, and bedding
- Clean clippers
- Clean high-touch areas in and around surgery
- Keep recovery cages and runs clean
- Stock prep, recovery, and scope carts
- Clean and restock bandage room
- Various housekeeping tasks
Qualities/Skills:
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to follow direction and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently and with other volunteers
- Comfortable working around staff in busy hospital ward
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role which requires repetitive movements such as bending, lifting, and reaching
- Emotional ability to handle seeing patients under anesthetics and being prepped for procedures
Requirements:
- A minimum commitment of six months
- A weekly shift of two hours on a set day and time
- Attendance at orientation and on-site training
Available Shifts:
- Tuesday and Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
