Hair of the Dog Wine Tasting and Art Show

 

Friday, May 2nd from 6-9pm at the Essex Art Center in Lawrence
Join us for the 10th annual ‘Hair of the Dog’ Wine Tasting & Art Show, benefiting the animals of
the MSPCA at Nevins Farm!  Sample over 50 wines & beers from around the world while enjoying a dazzling array of artwork by local artists.  Tasty tidbits from Whole Foods in Andover will make your evening complete.

Horses Helping Horses, Spring Trail Ride

Regisration is now open!
Join us at Great Brook Farm in Carlisle for our 6th annual Spring Trail Ride to benefit the horses and farm animals of the MSPCA’s Equine Center at Nevins Farm. Bring your horse, or “hoof it” on your own two feet for a scenic eight mile ride through the trails of Great Brook Farm.  Meet some of the adoptable horses at the MSPCA, and many of our 'equine alum'!
Registration is just $30 and will include a delicious vegetarian pasta lunch.  Fantastic prizes await the top three individual fundrasiers and top team! Raise $100, and you'll receive a limited edition, artist created, Horses Helping Horses Spring Trail Ride t-shirt.  But the best part is knowing that every dollar you raise will be making a difference for the record number of horses that have been surrendered to the MSPCA.  Many of these animals need extraordinary medical care and rehabilitation.  Your help and pledges are an integral part of their road back to health and happiness.

School Break Program
Register now!
Registration for our popular School Break Program is now open!  This popular program for children ages 6-10 or 11-15 affords animal-loving children the opportunity to help out at a large shelter, meet some great animals, make new friends and learn about animal care and welfare.
Programs are offered during the Massachusetts and New Hampshire February winter vacations, as well as during spring break.

Equine Clinic: Dressage Clinic with Jane Karol

 

Saturday April 26 from 9am-4pm
If dressage is your discipline, this clinic is not to be missed!  Acclaimed trainer Jane Karol uses classical training techniques to help you complement and work in harmony with the natural movement of your horse.

Appraisal Fair

Do you have treasures gathering dust in the attic?  Perhaps some hidden gems tucked away in a closet?  Now’s the time to gather up your heirlooms - Whether you have clocks or coins, art or jewelry, furniture or china, bring it to our third annual Antiques Appraisal Fair, and find out what it’s really worth!

This year's expert appraisers include:
George Jones – Timekeeping devices, general appraisals
David Searles – Watches, clocks, jewelry of all types
Russell Vaughn – Coins, currency, medals, fine art, autographs
Mark Hutchins - Antiques and collectibles of all kinds
Peter Coccoluto - Furniture, artwork, accessories

These experts will be on hand to verbally appraise your antiques, for just $5 each or three items for $12.  Mother’s get a free appraisal in celebration of Mother’s Day!  All proceeds will benefit the animals & programs of the MSPCA at Nevins Farm.
