Adopt a Bird Month
Did you know that the MSPCA Animal Care and Adoption Centers take in and rehome pet birds? From parakeets and doves to cockatiels and macaws, there are hundreds of birds in need of forever homes surrendered to the MSPCA each year.
Sharing your home with a feathered friend can be just as rewarding as a four-legged companion. Learn more about bird adoption and decide which bird might be a perfect fit for your lifestyle by clicking here.
Throughout Adopt a Bird Month, the MSPCA at Nevins Farm is hosting avian events in our lobby from 12-4pm each weekend. Specific topics include:
January 3 & 4 – General Care and Housing
January 10 & 11 – Foster Care
January 17 & 18 – Enrichment
January 24 & 31 – Festival of Flight Workshop (1-3 pm in our training room)
Our Festival of Flight Workshop will feature a silent auction, bird toys, the opportunity to learn about and create emergency kits, nutrition, setting up successful cages, bird behavior, planning for your bird, barn yard birds and even a little bird art.
All month long, interested bird lovers will be treated to a host of wonderful resources that will help improve the health and life of your feathered friend. Whether you are actively searching for a bird companion or already share your life with one, stop in to chat with our bird experts, meet some of our adoptable birds, and check out our bird raffles & bake sale!
Buy A Bale
Help us keep our hay loft full this winter!
Each year the MSPCA at Nevins Farm’s Equine & Farm Animal Center spends almost $60,000 on hay. With more horses arriving every day (not to mention the goats, sheep and rabbits!) this cost will only increase.
Will you help us keep our hay loft full this year? As little as $7 can buy a bale of hay to help feed the dozens of horses in our care. Click here to learn more and to donate.
Tree of Life: A Gift of Celebration & Remembrance
Pay tribute to a friend, family member or animal companion with an engraved brass leaf or foundation stone on the Hillside Acre Tree of Life, a beautiful memorial sculpture on the grounds of the cemetery. Your tribute will be a lasting visual expression of love and respect, as well as a strong symbol of support for the mission of the MSPCA.
Choose a Leaf ($100) or a Foundation Stone ($250), and we’ll engrave your personal message as a tribute to your loved one. Click here to learn more, or call us at (978) 685-0632.
