The MSPCA at Nevins Farm, in Methuen, Massachusetts, is a unique 55-acre animal care complex that provides shelter and adoption services for both farm and companion animals; an exceptional equine program, including rehabilitation, adoption services, and a world-renowned equine ambulance program; community outreach and education, including a popular summer camp for children; resources for pet owners who have lost a companion animal, including a crematory and cemetery; and humane law enforcement services that uphold animal protection laws and provide care to animal victims of abuse and neglect.  To donate directly to a Nevins Farm program, please click here.

Summer Camp - Registration Now Open

Sessions for kids grades 2-9
The MSPCA at Nevins Farm Children's Summer Camp teaches lifetime lessons of compassion, responsibility and respect not only toward animals, but toward all life and the environment as a whole.  
Campers work alongside shelter and barn staff to help care for our animals - all while learning about animal welfare and making new friends!
Sessions fill early and always sell out, so make sure to register early! 

Celebrate National Pig Day!

Friday March 6 at 10:30 am
Join us for a special edition of our popular Little Bookworms Storytime as we pay homage to pigs.  We’ll read a short story about these clever animals, followed by a visit from one of our friendly resident pigs!
Help them celebrate by bringing along a piece of fresh fruit or a bundle of fresh veggies.  Can’t be there for National Pig Day?  Drop off your produce contributions at the barn lobby Tuesday – Sunday from 1-4pm.

Calling all Guinea Pig enthusiasts!  Announcing Pig-a-Palooza!


Saturday March 7 from 1-3pm
Whether you're a seasoned Guinea Pig lover or interested in learning more about having them as pets, this is the event for you!  Join us for a family-friendly afternoon of great piggie information as information about husbandry, breeds, healthy, housing and enrichment are provided.  We'll even have an animal photographer on hand to take your Guinea Pig's pigture!  Nail trims will be available too! 
So, grab your favorite cavy and spend an afternoon with an enthusiastic community of Guinea Pig aficionados at Nevins Farm.

Starting a Backyard Flock: Community Education Presentation and Practicum Offerings ***new snow date***
Sunday March 22 from 12-3pm – Lecture
Six Practicum dates to choose from
Learn all you ever needed to know about keeping farm birds!  Whether you are just getting ready to start your flock or have been a farm bird enthusiast for years, our lecture has something for everyone.  Topics that will be covered include: establishing a successful flock, nutrition and housing, and basic handling and safety.
Want some hands-on experience caring for farm birds?  Sign up for one of our six available practicum sessions, offered from March through May at the MSPCA’s Chicken Coop.  You’ll learn from our staff and volunteers what it’s really like to share your life with farm birds.

The Big Feline Fix – FREE Spay-Neuter for Cats in Lawrence
Saturday March 7 & Sunday March 8
Do you live in Lawrence and have a cat that needs to be spayed or neutered? The MSPCA at Nevins Farm and the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society's Catmobile have teamed up for a FREE spay-neuter clinic for cats in Lawrence! Made possible by the generosity of individuals and through grants, there are a limited number of appointments, so book now!

The spay-neuter package includes the spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, FVRCP (distemper)vaccination, microchip (a form of permanent identification) and a nail trim.

Trailering Your Horse
Registration now open!
Our Equine Trailering course will help horse enthusiasts and owners of all skill-sets to improve their ability to safely, calmly and efficiently trailer horses of all temperaments.  Offered on March 28th,  and led by Roger Lauze, the basics of trailering to advanced trailering will be explored through classroom and hands-on learning while being challenged to consider the experience from the perspective of the horse.
