Adoption Center Wishlists

Thank you for your interest in supporting the animals at the MSPCA-Angell. Our Wishlist is constantly evolving to best meet the needs of the pets in our care as well as in the communities we serve. Below is our current list of our most needed items.

Donate Supplies to Our Adoption Centers

Before donating, please review the list below carefully to ensure your items can be accepted. We ask that donations be limited to the items listed, as receiving other items requires our teams to spend additional time and resources sorting and disposing of supplies we cannot use.

Food and Treats

  • Unopened, unexpired canned or dry non-prescription cat and dog food (all locations)
  • Feline c/d or other prescription urinary diet food (Boston, Methuen and Salem)
  • Soft dog treats, hot dogs, string cheese, chicken broth and Pill Pockets (Cape Cod only)
  • Treats for rabbits, hamsters, rats, ferrets, gerbils, mice, guinea pigs, birds and other small animals (Cape Cod only)

Please do not donate opened bags or expired food.

Bedding and Linens

All donated bedding and linens must be easily machine washable.

  • Towels, flat sheets and blankets (Boston, Methuen and Salem)
  • New or gently used cat beds or houses (Cape Cod only)
  • Washable dog and cat beds (Salem only)
  • Kuranda pet beds purchased through our Nevins Farm donation page (Methuen only)

Litter

  • Unopened cat litter (Boston, Cape Cod and Methuen)

Carriers, Crates and Walking Supplies

Carriers and crates must be clean and in excellent working condition.

  • Hard- or soft-sided cat and dog carriers (Boston only)
  • Hard-sided cat and dog carriers (Methuen only)
  • Clear, hard-plastic carriers; no wire crates (Salem only)
  • Collapsible metal dog crates (Methuen only)
  • New or like-new dog leashes (Methuen only)
  • New dog leashes and collars (Salem only)

Toys and Enrichment

  • Kongs and other indestructible or interactive dog toys (Cape Cod only)
  • New dog and cat toys (Methuen and Salem)
  • Toys, chews and houses for rabbits, hamsters, rats, ferrets, gerbils, mice, guinea pigs, birds and other small animals (Cape Cod only)

Household and Paper Supplies

  • Paper towels (Cape Cod and Methuen)
  • Tissues (Methuen only)
  • Newspapers (Cape Cod and Methuen)
  • Liquid dishwashing soap (Cape Cod only)
  • Liquid hand soap (Cape Cod only)

Gift Cards

  • Gift cards to local grocery stores (all locations; Market Basket gift cards are specifically requested in Methuen)
  • Gift cards to pet stores, hardware stores and office supply stores (Cape Cod only)
  • Mobil gas cards (Cape Cod only)

Please do not donate medications. For any item not included above, please seek an alternative donation location.

Items We Are Unable to Accept

Please consider donating to other organizations or individuals who can utilize your items. We often recommend searching on local forums and groups to see if you have a neighbor in need of pet supplies.

  • Any opened pet food
  • Prescription medications, even if unused or unexpired
  • Pillows, comforters, or any other bedding that is bulky or difficult to wash
  • Pet clothing or costumes
  • Used litter boxes

Where to Drop Off Donations

MSPCA-Boston

Accepted donations may be left in the bins in the main Adoption Center lobby during open hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 12:00–4:00 p.m.

Please do not leave donations outside the building.

MSPCA-Cape Cod

Donation bins are located in front of the Adoption Center. Accepted items may be dropped off whenever it is convenient.

MSPCA at Nevins Farm

Donation bins are located in front of the Adoption Center. Accepted items may be dropped off at any time, although 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. is preferred.

If you need a donation receipt or are donating a gift card, please bring your donation to the front counter during open hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 12:00–4:30 p.m.

MSPCA–Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem

Accepted donations may be left in the bins in the main Adoption Center lobby during open hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Please do not leave donations outside the building.

Angell Animal Medical Center

Accepted donations may be left in the bins in the vestibule 24/7.

Please do not leave donations outside the building.

General Wish List Items

Boston

We ask that you limit donations to ONLY the below 

  • Linens: Towels (all size), flat sheets, blankets, etc (please only donate what is easily machine washable)
  • Canned and dry non prescription cat or dog food  (Please NO opened bags or expired food).
  • Feline CD or other urinary diet prescription food.
  • Litter (unopened)

  • Hard or soft-sided cat and dog carriers in excellent working condition

We receive an overwhelming amount of donations outside of the above desired items that cost time and money to sort and throw out. Please seek alternative donation locations for donations outside of the above items.

Accepted donations can be left in the bins at the main adoption center lobby which are accessible during our open hours (Tuesday to Sunday 12-4). Please do not leave donations outside our building.

Cape Cod

For the Dogs

For the Smaller Guys

  • Cat Litter (unopened)
  • Linens: flat sheets, blankets, and towels (all sizes)
  • Tissues and paper towels
  • Kuranda Pet Beds
  • New dog and cat toys
  • New and like new dog leashes
  • Newspapers
  • Hard-sided cat and dog carriers in excellent working condition
  • Collapsible metal dog crates in excellent working condition

Please seek alternate donation locations for donations outside of the above listed items.

Donation bins are stationed in front of our adoption center. You are welcome to drop accepted items off anytime, though between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm is preferable. If you require a receipt for your donation, or are dropping off a gift card donation, items must be brought in to staff at the front counter during our open hours of 12pm-4:30pm, Tuesday-Sunday.
