What information do we collect about you?
Our registration forms, surveys, and/or e-stores require users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information, format preference (HTML vs. Text), interests, and similar information. We do not store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers.
We collect an IP address from all visitors to our Site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. Other industry standard visitor data including the location of your device or computer, device type, browser version, date and time of visit and pages visited are also collected. We use IP addresses and other collected data to help diagnose problems with our servers, administer our Site, analyze trends, track users’ movements, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the Site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses and other standard data are not linked to personally identifiable information.

MSPCA-Angell is committed to the highest standards of integrity in its fundraising efforts and to respecting the privacy of its donors, whether the donation is made online, by mail, in person, or by any other method. Confidential donor information is kept for purposes of complying with IRS regulations, and may be given to our vendors who need such information to perform assigned duties related to donations on behalf of MSPCA-Angell. These vendors are bound by strict confidentiality obligations and are only permitted to use such information in fulfillment of their duties to MSPCA-Angell. It is also used to analyze overall giving patterns in order to understand donor’s interests in our mission and for budget planning purposes. MSPCA-Angell will never sell, rent, trade or share donor’s email addresses with any other organization, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.
The MSPCA-Angell uses remarketing to display ads across the internet, in particular on the Google Display Network and Facebook, based on what parts of our Site you have viewed by placing a cookie on your web browser. This cookie does not in any way identify you or give access to your computer or mobile device. This use of remarketing allows us to tailor our messages to only display ads that are relevant to you. If you do not wish to see ads from the MSPCA-Angell, you can opt out by visiting Google’s Ad settings and/or Facebook’s Ad settings.
We may work with social media companies (primarily Facebook) to show you interest-based ads to you or to your friends through Facebook’s Custom Audience Tool. This tool allows us to personalize our ads based on you or your friends’ interactions with the MSPCA-Angell. We do not share personal information about you with Facebook, but we share a hashed email address or phone number which allows Facebook to identify our advertising audience based on the information that Facebook collects from its users. If you do not want to receive interest-based ads on Facebook, you can adjust your ad preferences through your Facebook settings.
Your choices about your information
We will always honor your requests to modify your communication preferences with us. We respect your privacy and recognize that you may wish to limit our communications with you. We may send you emails or mailings in the future to inform or update you on MSPCA-Angell news or giving opportunities. If you choose not to receive any further communications from us, you may opt out by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, mailing address and a sentence requesting removal from the MSPCA mailing list.
For European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) users or similar international areas: you also have the right to access your personal data, the right to request we erase your personal data, the right to correct it, and the right to request that we stop processing your data. How we protect your data
Our Site is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our Site as safe as possible.
All transactions on our Site are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.
All information provided to MSPCA-Angell is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of MSPCA-Angell who need to know such information in order to fulfill their job responsibilities or by authorized agents working on behalf of the MSPCA-Angell who are likewise fulfilling support, fulfillment or development responsibilities. Donations processed on this website are VeriSign Secured. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.
In the event that any information under our control is compromised, the MSPCA-Angell will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
A note to users outside of Massachusetts and the United States
Other states provide their users with certain privacy protections. The MSPCA-Angell endeavors to comply with such laws and regulations as appropriate. For instance, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) affords California consumers with additional protections. Website postings by users
Information posted on our Site by individual users, whether via sponsored blogs or other applicable forums, are the responsibility of the individual(s) posting such information. Such information does not necessarily reflect the views of the MSPCA-Angell, and in no event shall the MSPCA-Angell assume or have any responsibility or liability for any such information posted, or for any claims, damages or losses resulting from the use and/or appearance of such information. The MSPCA-Angell shall have no obligation to monitor or control postings made by individuals, but reserves the right to do so, and to remove postings that it deems inappropriate or inaccurate. Do Not Track
The MSPCA-Angell does not track its users across third party websites and therefore does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, some third party plug-ins may keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, to enable them to tailor your experience.
Third parties that have content embedded on the MSPCA’s Site such as a social feature or a streaming video may set cookies on a user’s browser and/or obtain information about the fact that a web browser visited a specific MSPCA-Angell website from a certain IP address. Third parties cannot collect any other personally identifiable information from the Site unless you provide it to them directly.
A note about children
The MSPCA-Angell strives to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not intentionally or knowingly collect personal data from website visitors that are under the age of 13. We do not specifically market to children under the age of 13. If a child under 13 submits personal information to our Site and we learn about it, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible.
