Animal Action Center

Thanks for your interest in taking action on animal issues. Your help is essential. The current session of the state legislature started on January 6, 2021. Formal session ended July 31, 2022 and informal session will continue until December 31, 2022.

As a citizen animal advocate, the most impactful thing you can do is to virtually meet with or call/email your legislator! Learn how, and learn who represents you. If you cannot connect with or call your elected officials, however, please help by taking action below!

Ask your legislators to support these important animal protection bills!

Regulate the use of Second Generation Rodenticides!

Regulate the use of Second Generation Rodenticides!

Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (SGARs) are a type of poison used for rodent control that work by stopping the blood clotting processes, causing lethal hemorrhage. While personal use of SGARs is already banned in MA, licensed pest companies can still use it when hired to deal with rodent problems. This bill requires digitization of pesticide use forms for better monitoring of the use of SGARs by the MA Department of Agriculture, and requires public institutions of higher education to adopt IPM strategies, which use multiple methods to prevent and address rodent problems. Learn more about this legislation.
