Clinic Data Entry Clerk

Description:

This is an opportunity for individuals excited to support our Clinic team by providing accurate and efficient data entry. Clinic Data Entry Clerks will be in regular communication with our veterinary team, but sit in an office area outside the clinic. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain familiarity with veterinary terminology and the day-to-day workings of a clinic. Volunteers in this role will not be hands-on with animals or veterinary procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Enter data regarding veterinary care for shelter animals
• Enter data regarding veterinary care for publicly owned animals
• Volunteers may be asked to assist with periodic computer projects and responding to voicemails

Qualities/Skills:

• Computer proficiency, including ease with learning a new system. Familiarity with Signature software or experience with other veterinary/medical data entry a plus!
• Ability to remain confidential
• Ability to work independently and with other volunteers
• Attention to detail
• Excellent spelling and grammar skills
• Ability to sit for the duration of a three to four hour shift

Requirements:

• Attendance at a volunteer orientation and on-the-job training with clinic staff
• Pass a background CORI check

Time Commitment:

• A once weekly three – four hour shift on a set day and time
• Minimum of a six month commitment

Shift Timing:

Monday through Friday: 9am-12pm
Clinic Data Entry takes place only at the above time, so please ensure your availability before applying to this particular role.

Available Days: Tuesdays, Fridays
Subject to change depending on existing coverage.
