Volunteer Veterinarian - MSPCA-Angell

Description:

Our shelter and community clinic is looking for assistance from veterinarians currently licensed to practice in Massachusetts. Volunteer Veterinarians most often assist by performing spay/neuter procedures, but we also welcome those with a specialized skillset (Exotics, dermatology, etc.)

Due to limited staffing, we are unable to provide training on spay/neuter surgeries; we are looking for veterinarians who already have established surgical skills.

Responsibilities:

Perform spay/neuter surgeries
Additional surgeries as determined by your skillset and the animals scheduled on your volunteer day
Complete necessary documentation regarding procedures
Communication with shelter staff or owner of an animal in regard to surgery performed

Qualities/Skills:

Ability to work well in a small, busy area
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail

Requirements:

Copy of Massachusetts veterinary license
Proof of professional liability insurance
Resume, with your average time to complete dog and cat spay/neuter surgery in your application

Time Commitment:

One full day a month or more preferred, Monday through Friday (The clinic is closed on weekends)
Six month commitment preferred – longer commitments welcome!
