MSPCA-Angell Community Outreach Seeing Huge Demand for Pet Food, Other Supplies Amid Challenging Economy

With over 1,700 cases of a particularly virulent strain of canine flu ravaging a single county in Illinois, veterinarians at the MSPCA’s Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston are preparing for an influx of cases that may strike New England in the coming weeks, the organization announced today.

A beloved six-year-old cat named “Monkey” is on the rebound after battling a severe and extremely rare skin disorder that resulted in inflamed and painful lesions, the MSPCA’s Angell Animal Medical Center announced today.

The MSPCA-Angell rescued 71 Dachshund-type dogs from a Westminster puppy mill in January—one of whom was pregnant and gave birth to three puppies days after arrival.

Homeless animals and their advocates on Cape Cod are set to realize a major milestone: the building of a new, much larger animal care and adoption center.
