How to File a Pet Insurance Claim

• Inpatient – We can only accept direct payments from ASPCA on a case-by-case basis and only if you are unable to pay the deposit/invoice up front. A pre-approval from the insurance company is required. For more information, please contact ASPCA at 1-866-204-6764. Once you have a pre-approval, please send it to insurancecoordinator@mspca.org.
• Outpatient – You can submit claims online, on the app, or by filling out and sending in a claim form. More information at https://www.aspcapetinsurance.com/customer-community/how-to-file-a-claim/

• Inpatient – We can only accept direct payments from Healthy Paws on a case-by-case basis and only if you are unable to pay the deposit/invoice up front. Healthy Paws requires you—the client—to request direct payment before treatment takes place. You can start the process by calling Healthy Paws at (855) 898-8991. An itemized estimate is required. Once you have pre-approval from Healthy Paws, please send it to insurancecoordinator@mspca.org.

• Inpatient – We can only accept direct payments from Pets Best on a case-by-case basis and only if you are unable to pay the deposit/invoice up front. Pets Best does not provide pre-approval services, so it is up to the treating veterinarian whether or not they are comfortable accepting direct pay from Pets Best. Fill out the veterinary reimbursement form located at https://www.petsbest.com/vet-direct-pay and send it to insurancecoordinator@mspca.org.

• Inpatient – If a bill is over $1,000 and is eligible for coverage, Pumpkin may be able to reimburse you within 15 minutes (see full details on eligibility at https://www.pumpkin.care/pn-terms). Our insurance coordinator can submit the estimate and the claim for you, but it’s easy to do yourself if he is not available. Please reach out to insurancecoordinator@mspca.org to get started and include your policy number. Unless it is an emergency visit, this process must be started prior to treatment. If you would prefer to pay up front and be reimbursed, please refer to the outpatient section below.
