Shelter life has been a little overwhelming, so Phineas has been coping the only way he knows how…snacking his way through it. Stress? Snack. Bored? Snack.Someone walked by? Probably snack.
He’s looking for a calm, patient home where he can finally relax (and maybe discover hobbies that aren’t food-related). Phineas prefers to initiate affection—he’s a consent is key kind of guy—and will do best with adopters who can read his cues and give him space when he needs it.
With time, understanding, and a steady routine, Phineas has the potential to be a really special companion—equal parts sensitive soul and snack enthusiast—he just needs a chance to feel safe again.
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Phineas. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
