Meet Scooby

Scooby is a happy-go-lucky guy who loves meeting new people and making friends wherever he goes. He’s incredibly smart and always eager to learn—especially if treats are involved! Whether he’s out exploring or hanging out with his favorite people, Scooby is happiest when he’s part of the action.

He’s even been on adventures to Home Depot, where he quickly became the star of the show—you’d think he works there part-time! He also loves spending time playing with his toys and is always ready for a little fun.

Tennis balls are Scooby’s absolute favorite thing in the world! Because they’re so special to him, he appreciates people who understand his body language and respect his space when he has one. He’s happy to trade for treats, which helps him feel comfortable and keeps interactions positive.

Puzzle toys, food enrichment, and other fun activities will help keep his mind busy and set him up for success. He’ll thrive with a family that enjoys including him in their daily routine and giving him opportunities to use both his brain and his nose.

Scooby would thrive with adopters who enjoy getting out for walks, giving him opportunities to explore, and continuing to build on all the great things he already knows using positive reinforcement. He’ll make a loyal adventure buddy who’s always ready to join in on whatever the day has in store.

If going home with another dog, a dog meet is required on campus first.

Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Scooby. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

Visit www.mspca.org/petresources to learn how to prepare for a successful first few weeks at home with a your adopted pet!

NEW! Extended evening hours for dog adoptions only until 7PM on Wednesdays on the Cape, and on Thursdays in Boston, Methuen, and Salem.

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
