Meet Trixie

Meet Trixie, a sweet 5-year-old Lab mix who’s looking for a patient family to help her blossom. New people can be a little scary for her at first, so she takes some time to warm up, but once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll discover an incredibly affectionate, cuddly companion who loves being close to her favorite people. Trixie is happiest when she’s carrying around a favorite toy or enjoying a frozen enrichment treat, and she’s always ready to settle in for some quality snuggle time afterward. Trixie would prefer to be the only dog in her new home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. If you’re willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe, Trixie will reward you with unwavering loyalty and plenty of cuddles.

Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Trixie. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

NEW! Extended evening hours for dog adoptions only until 7PM on Wednesdays on the Cape, and on Thursdays in Boston, Methuen, and Salem.

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
