Mara Follmer

Mara began working in the animal field in 2007 and spent the next 12 years as a trainer, primarily with marine mammals and other small mammal species. In 2017, she returned to school and became a certified veterinary technician. During that time, she spent several years working at a small animal clinic, caring for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, and many other exotic animals. Mara joined the team at the MSPCA-Angell as the specialty secretary for the Neurology department in 2021. She enjoys communicating daily with the Neurology patients’ pet parents, helping them feel at ease while visiting with the team. Outside of work, Mara enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog, Louie.
