About Rebecca

Rebecca grew up in Rhode Island and graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with the goal of working with elephants. Her love for elephants had her completing various summer internships, including at an elephant sanctuary in the States, as well as an elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka, where she spent three weeks volunteering. She continued working with elephants and other large animals for several years.

Upon relocating to California in 2015, Rebecca thought about going back to school to become a pastry chef because of her love of baking, but after only a few months working in a bakery, she realized how much she missed working with animals. Instead, she decided to continue her education in 2016 and signed up for the veterinary technician program at Carrington College. Upon graduating, she became an RVT in California. Not too soon after, she moved across the country to be closer to family and received her CVT for Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and baking, and loves spending time outdoors, especially at the beach.
