Looking for an activity that will boost your child’s reading confidence and help animals at the same time? Register for the Nevins Rescue Readers Program! Accompanied by a parent or guardian, children will read out loud to an adoring canine, feline, rabbit or even a chicken! While your child practices reading, you’ll also be providing valuable social time to our adoptable animals. This program will run on the first or second Sunday of the month from 11am-12pm at Nevins Farm. Bring your favorite book, or borrow one from the MSPCA library (our book selection is suited for ages 3-10). Advance registration is required, and there is a $10 donation per participant, per session. Please contact us if the donation fee would be a barrier for your child’s participation. All participants must have a parent or guardian present for the duration of the program. This event is appropriate for children who are learning to read, and/or could benefit from some practice reading out loud. Please note that due to the nature of this program, and the limited space, we regretfully cannot accommodate unregistered guests.
