The Angell Pharmacy remains open during the COVID-19 pandemic
Angell will continue to fill prescriptions for Angell patients during the coronavirus crisis.
Beginning Wednesday, July 15, the Angell Pharmacy in Boston will allow pharmacy clients into the building to pick up and pay for pre-ordered food and medication refills. Please note: This does not include prescriptions ordered during appointments or at discharge. To maintain the safety of our clients and staff, clients are required to wear a mask and traffic patterns will be clearly outlined on the floor to help maintain appropriate social distance while in the building. The building is not yet open to clients visiting for appointments, we will continue our curbside concierge service for non-pharmacy clients.
Clients can submit their prescription requests here at angell.org/pharmacy or by calling 617-524-5700. Please note shipping fees will apply to mail prescriptions. If they are time-sensitive, clients can pick up their prescriptions at our hospital locations. Staff will deliver the medications to clients outside the building. Pharmacy pick-ups for our Angell Waltham facility are also limited, call for details 781-902-8400.
Additionally, on nights (after 5p) and during pharmacy business hours on weekends/holidays, curbside order pick-up may only be available every half hour (e.g. 1pm, 1:30pm, etc…), due to our pharmacy’s capacity to both deliver client orders outside while continuing to fill prescription orders inside.
Please call the pharmacy when you arrive at 617-524-5700 and we will bring your pet’s order out to a designated pick-up area at our entrance.
Please take note – clients who arrive outside of these hours to pick up will not be able to refill or pick up their pet’s order, as there will not be staff available to provide this service.

Our full-service pharmacy can fill medication orders for pets discharged from our hospital as well as those seen by general medicine or any of our numerous specialty departments. We also have a satellite pharmacy at our Waltham location for added convenience and access!

Picking up your pet’s medication has never been easier – You may pick up your pet’s filled medication from our main desks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – even when the pharmacy is closed! You should call ahead to confirm that your order is ready when picking up after hours.

Important Information Regarding Refill Requests
Our pharmacy carries both human and veterinary products. In addition to these prescription and over the counter products, we compound a large portion of the medications we dispense, including oral suspensions, capsules, medicated treats and transdermal gels. Because these products are made especially for your pet, it may take up to 48 hours to have these orders ready.
For all other prescription refill requests, it may take up to 24 hours to process and complete your order. Due to the large volume of requests we handle, we cannot provide callbacks or confirmations for refill requests but we encourage you to call us anytime to check on the status of your request prior to arriving for pick up.
Important Information Regarding Shipping Prescription Orders
We are happy to provide shipping of your pet’s medication and food orders to make your experience as convenient as possible. Please review our shipping terms before choosing this method; we can only ship to addresses within Massachusetts.
COVID-19 UPDATE: At this time, overnight shipping service and shipment of refrigerated items is temporarily suspended due to ongoing delays with our mail carrier. Please note that regular shipments may experience extended transit times due to uncontrollable conditions at our mail carrier. If a medication order is needed urgently, it may be picked up at either of our two hospital locations. Shipping rates are shown below and most orders ship within 24 hours of payment.
