Thunder's Lemonade Stand

At Nevins Farm

You don’t have to be an adult to help animals!  Even the youngest member of the community can take action for homeless neglected animals.  Thunder’s Lemonade Stand is a great opportunity for kids to host a fundraiser.

Thunder’s Lemonade Stand is made up of a beautiful “Thunder’s Lemonade Stand” table cloth with a 6’ table and can be set up here at Nevins Farm any Saturday or Sunday from 12-4pm, and staffed by children of all ages (must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).  It’s designed to be easily portable, so Thunder’s Lemonade Stand can be taken to offsite events, schools, or even your own neighborhood!

Hosts of Thunder’s Lemonade Stand donate all product and supplies for lemonade.  You can set your own price – be sure to tell your customers that you are donating the proceeds to the animals of the MSPCA at Nevins Farm!

Who the Lemonade Stand Will Help…

The proceeds from Thunder’s Lemonade Stand are donated to Ashton’s Hope Fund.   Named for a young foal that required expensive surgery, Ashton’s Hope Fund provides medical care to MSPCA horses and farm animals currently being cared for at Nevins Farm.  Some may need routine treatment or special shoeing, while others may be suffering from serious injury or disease, or in need of lengthy rehabilitation to restore their health, dignity and grace.  Since its inception, Ashton’s Hope Fund has helped hundreds of animals become healthy enough for adoption.  Learn more about this special fund by clicking here.

As a thank you for your support, we’ll provide a tax-deductible donation receipt for hosts of Thunder’s Lemonade Stand.

Who is Thunder?

Thunder was a very large Simmental steer that arrived at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in 2008.  His previous owner could not keep him, and turned to the MSPCA for help.  As the only open admissions animal care & adoption center in New England for horses & farm animals, we’ve been able to help Thunder by providing him a safe place to stay while we searched for an adoptive home.  During his 4 years at Nevins, Thunder became a favorite of staff, volunteers, and visitors alike, with many families coming each week just to see this 2,000 lb. cow relax in his paddock.  Thunder retired at Farm Sanctuary in upstate New York where he lived very happily for several years before passing away from old age.
