New Dentistry Suite, Clinic, and Endoscopy and Patient Recovery Areas

Angell's new, state-of-the-art dentistry suite

Angell’s new, state-of-the-art dentistry suite

In June 2016, Angell completed construction of new and expanded Dentistry, Cardiology and Endoscopy care centers as well as a larger, brighter and more comfortable recovery area.

A state-of-the-art clinic—for administering diagnostic tests has also opened.  And the all-new I-131 Lab, for treatment of feline hyperthyroidism, is receiving patients. These renovations have come after the 2015 installation of Angell’s all-new MRI which ensures the hospital can offer the most advanced digital radiography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and other imaging services necessary for precise diagnoses that optimize patient care.

Angell remains focused on investing in three crucial areas: advanced medical equipment and technology, space renovation and the endowing of mission-based financial aid programs to help less fortunate pet owners receive life-saving care for their animals. In addition to the infrastructure and capital equipment improvements already completed, more than $5 million in donations has been earmarked for financial aid.

In the Near Future

One of six new exam rooms, three of which are feline friendly.

The hospital expects to invest nearly $4 million into an all new Emergency & Critical Care  (ECC) Unit—the cornerstone of Angell’s 24/7 emergency veterinary service—which will be nearly double the size of the current unit so as to treat more patients and better accommodate families who visit their pets in the hospital.

The new ECC will be physically relocated so that patients and their families will have more space during visiting hours and easier access to the outdoors and—in a nod to just how technology-advanced the hospital has become—video streaming will allow owners to check in on their pets via their computers and smart phones.

Buttercup in her Kitty Kruiser

“Kitty Kruisers” transport cats like Buttercup in order to avoid anxiety-invoking eye-level proximity with canine patients. Blankets are available to cover carriers to further enhance security and comfort.

These changes are made possible by the success of Angell’s Centennial capital campaign which hinges on the commitment from donors large and small who believe companion animals deserve the utmost compassion and the best medical care available.
