Ann Thruelsen
When long-time, very active Overseer Anne Thruelsen passed away in the spring of 2017, she was mourned by a great many friends, who remember her as a person with an unparalleled love for animals of all kinds. Anne favored the MSPCA–Angell with a generous bequest that will help to fund the renovation of Angell’s Critical Care Unit. A native of New Jersey, Anne came to the Boston area for her college education, and never left. She enjoyed a successful career in banking and finance, and at the time of her death was Chief Financial Officer for the Highland Street Foundation. In addition to her service as one of our Overseers, she volunteered at the Women’s Lunch Place for many years. A true cat fancier, Anne most recently lived with her beloved cats Winston and Clementine, who were adopted, like all her cats before them, from shelters. Anne is fondly remembered as generous and intuitive: an extraordinarily strong, passionate and independent woman. We miss her.
