Raise the Woof
The MSPCA-Angell Raised the Woof — and brought down the house! — at its annual spring fundraiser held Thursday, May 11 at the fabulous Larz Anderson Park in Brookline. More than 450 guests, and 50+ dogs, listened in rapt attention as Boston Emcee Tom Stebbins and MSPCA President Neal Litvack unveiled #OperationVetTech, the MSPCA’s plan to counter a worldwide shortage of veterinary technicians with a pioneering series of hiring, mentoring and retention strategies to cement Angell Animal Medical Center’s reputation as the foremost animal hospital in the world.
Event sponsor and new MSPCA Board member Dale Bearden paid homage to the MSPCA’s storied mission to protect and advocate for all animals, everywhere, and longtime donors Pam Trefler and Jennifer Eckert received the Noble Award for Humane Philanthropy for their generous support of the MSPCA’s mission.
And finally… drumroll please: more than $715,000 was raised to fund #OperationVetTech and the MSPCA’s other veterinary, law enforcement, pet transport, sheltering and advocacy work.
