Hundreds of Animal Lovers to Descend on Craigville Beach on Super Bowl Sunday to Raise Money for the Adoption Center
BOSTON and Centerville, Mass., Jan. 28, 2020 – The bravest animal lovers on Cape Cod will once again make the mad dash from the sand of Craigville beach in Centerville, Mass. into the icy waters of the Atlantic in a bid to raise thousands of dollars for animals on the Cape, the MSPCA-Cape Cod announced today.
The sixth annual Polar Bear Plunge is scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2 at noon. Online registration is open and on-site registration begins at 11:15 a.m. on the day. Participants are encouraged to register online as soon as possible to secure their spot in the lineup.
Registration is $25 and limited edition Polar Plunge-themed tees will be available for sale. There is ample public parking available right at Craigville beach, and all plungers and their supporters are invited to the 19th Hole in Barnstable afterwards to warm up with beverages and bites.
This year’s event is expected to raise over $30,000 to meet the medical and sheltering needs of the hundreds of animals who shelter at the MSPCA every year before they are placed into new homes.
The title sponsors of the 2020 Plunge is Kinlin Grover Real Estate, which operates 24 offices from Cape Cod to the South coast and South shore, and specializes in the marketing and sale of waterfront, village and luxury homes.
