Animal Relocation
In 1994, Northeast Animal Shelter i(NEAS) implemented a robust animal relocation program — one of the first of its kind — to help reduce the nation’s overpopulation problem at animal shelters across the country. Since its inception NEAS transported over 125,000 cats and dogs to New England — where the demand for adoptable pets is high — and placed them in homes.
Northeast Animal Shelter’s affiliation with the MSPCA-Angell allows the organizations to combine our relocation efforts with the MSPCA’s veterinary and adoption center resources, which enables us to connect thousands more animals — from areas where shelters remain full — with adopters than either organization could on their our own. In doing so, we hope to provide resources and relief in underserved communities throughout the country.
