Nevins Farm Foster Program

ATTENTION: COVID-19 FOSTER UPDATE Thank you so much for your interest in fostering! We have had a lot of folks reaching out and while shelters in other areas of the country are struggling with a large number of animals at their adoption centers, we are at a time of year where we have the lowest population of animals. For this reason, we are currently not seeking foster homes but instead seeking adoptive homes for the low number of animals currently in our care. Visit to view photos and descriptions of the animals at our three adoption centers.

What may impact our organization sooner rather than later is the economic implications of this situation. Because of the recommendations to cancel gatherings and avoid social interactions, we have made the difficult decision to close our adoption centers with the exception of appointments for adoptions and surrenders, cancel behavior and training classes, and postpone all but emergency visits to our veterinary hospitals. All of these programs generate funds for our nonprofit, allowing us to provide the care and shelter for homeless animals when they need us most. If you’d like to consider a gift, no matter how small, to help us continue the work that we do it would be much appreciated, and can be made easily online.

We would also appreciate donations of pet food from our amazon wishlist, these items will help us keep owners and their pets together as the economic impact of this situation continues to unfurl.

Should anything about the situation change that requires help from our community, we will not hesitate to reach out via our social media sites so please follow us for the most up to date information about our needs and challenges on Facebook and Instagram.

Fostering a Companion Animal

The majority of animals in need of foster care are cats and kittens, with occasional need for dogs, rabbits, and other small animals.  The time needed in a foster home varies depending on the animal’s specific needs.  It can be as little as one week to a few months.  Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience and is a personal and wonderful way to help save a life.
