Meet Parsley! This handsome boy is looking for a new home.
Guinea pigs can make wonderful pets! They are very social creatures which means that they generally need at least one companion! Of course guinea pigs should only be kept with other piggies of the same sex. A pair of guinea pigs needs at minimum 10.5 sq. feet of cage space, or roughly 30″ x 50″ with a solid bottom, but more room is always encouraged! Guinea pigs can be quite noisy which can be lovely as long as you are expecting it!

More About Penne:
I am a one-of-a-kind little girl. I am adventurous, adaptable, and ready to make friends in any home. While in foster I have lived with dogs, cats and other kittens. I make new animal friends in any home in which I am placed, and I have no fear of putting big dogs in their place! I enjoy being active and climbing just about anything. Want company on the couch or kitchen counter? I am your girl! I am a sweet young lady who enjoys snuggles and keeping my person clean I like grooming hair, or hands while I gently hold them with my paws and groom away.
I have Manx syndrome, which means that I need assistance emptying my bladder completely. I am looking for a loving adopter who will express my bladder three times a day. I am doing a really good job of learning when I need my bladder expressed, and I will enter my litter box and begin scratching, which is a great cue for my person to help me empty my bladder but my adopter should expect to work through challenges as I adjust to my new home and seek out help from the MSPCA or their own vet if needed. This is a condition that will require lifelong management and planning (think of who will be able to care for me if you go on vacation?) so staff is seeking a special type of person that can be committed to my care! Bonus points to an adopter that works in the veterinary field as I am a kitten that is going to need a home that has a close relationship with their vet to help me along through life.
In addition to my medically-related challenges, I am a typical rambunctious and energetic kitten and I will need proper enrichment.

More about KitKat:
Don’t let my perma-grump face fool you, I’m a sweet cuddle bug and love to be near my people. Chin scratches and being brushed are a few of my favorite things. I am also very chatty and will want to tell you ALL about my day. In return I’m a very good listener and would love nothing more than to cuddle up together and be BFFs.
Dogs are NOT one of my favorite things, and I’m not very keen on other cats either, so ideally I’d have all your love to myself. Gentle kids who want a snuggly bed time buddy would be a-ok with me.
One thing you should know is that I have diabetes, and will need daily insulin injections to help regulate my diabetes. My adopter will need to work closely with a private veterinarian to keep me regulated, be willing to give me daily insulin doses, monitor my blood glucose levels, and understand that my diabetes maintenance can be a little pricy. I’m well-behaved at the vet, and I’m good at receiving my insulin injections.

Calling all fancy chicken fans! We have a great bachelor flock of little guys looking for a new flock to call their own. They are all quite docile with people and each other, so would likely do well integrating into any existing flock as long as they are an appropriate size match. Some of these fellows are quite small (and adorable)!
Ezra is an adult female alpine cross goat who is a looking for a new herd to call home! Due to the conditions in their previous home, Ezra and the rest of her current herd will need some extra TLC and medical care to get them healthy. Ezra is a bit shy, so she’ll need some time to settle in before she is comfortable with handling, but she is a stunning goat!
Mice are nocturnal, very acrobatic and talented adventures. They can even jump up to a foot and a half! Mice can be very skittish, but with patience and care can make wonderful companions. Mice can get along in same-sex groups but each is unique so we recommend being prepared to separate them if required. We prefer that mice, especially females, are housed with or nearby other mice as inter-species socialization can be vital to an animal’s happiness and mimicking their natural needs.
We recommend a 10 gallon or larger tank filled with about ¼” of paper bedding or other nesting material. Nesting material should be loose, light, easy to manipulate, and of course safe. Enclosures should be well ventilated but kept out of direct drafts, and should provide plenty of enclosed opaque shelters for the mice to retreat into as desired. Enclosures should provide lots of enrichment for the mice to meet their natural needs in the areas of chewing/gnawing, physical movement, resting/hiding, and nesting material or food to forage. A properly sized wheel or disc is a necessity for the mice to meet their exercise needs.
The needs of each mouse are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the mouse you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Doves can be tamed but tend to be more “hands off” birds. They tend to vocalize throughout the day with a “coo”, dissimilar to the screeching or whistling of many other birds. Doves can be found around the world, and can live up to 10 years with proper nutrition and care. We recommend that doves live in pairs or groups whenever possible.
We recommend a cage that is at least 32”x23” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ?-¾” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of flat surfaces to perch on, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. Unlike many other species of birds, doves are unable to climb up cage bars, and tend to move back and forth making a wider cage more appealing to them. Doves should be provided with regular opportunities for bathing, and unlike parrots require grit as part of their regular diet to aid in digestion.
The needs of each dove are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the dove you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

Meet Chiba! She is a sweet, sensitive gal who thinks the world can be a pretty scary place. She is looking for a quiet environment with a family who shares her appreciation for the comforts of home. She’s not looking for too much adventure, just a comfortable couch in a familiar place with a couple of her favorite people. Chiba might be successful with another mellow dog or cat friend, and may enjoy the company of older kids with good shy dog skills. If you have the quiet lifestyle Chiba is looking for and would like to learn more about her, submit an inquiry today!
Meet Penny! That means brace yourself for this spring-loaded jumping bean of energy. We have had the great pleasure of getting to know Penny pretty well in the adoption center, that means we know her to be a complicated lady. Sometimes she is bouncy and wild and ready for action, sometimes she is quite fearful and quiet, trying to make herself disappear. Life with Penny will mean helping her navigate the world when she is being silly and when she is afraid. She`s looking for an adopter who is excited about helping her become the very best version of herself – but we already think she is pretty great. Penny might be able to live with a confident and tolerant helper dog, but says no thank you to cats and kids. If you`d like to learn more about Penny, submit an inquiry today!
Meet Cucumber! Cucumber came to us as a stray so we know very little about him. We recommend providing a safe indoor enclosure that allows a rabbit to stretch their legs and move around. A rabbit enclosure should be a minimum of 12 sq ft and have a solid bottom. We ask to see a photo of the enclosure you plan on keeping the rabbit in, as well as it’s dimensions, prior to sending the animal home.

Leg and his brothers are looking for new homes! These adorable baby rats are super curious and playful. They can be a bit shy at first, but once they settle in they like to be pet and get treats. These cute guys are young enough that with a little love and TLC they will grow into super sweet and social rats that will make great companions for any rat loving family! They could go home to another rat, in pairs or small same sex groups!
These bonded boys came to our shelter with no history – so we aren’t sure what they’ll be like in a home. They have been curious, social and sweet with our staff. Rats are very intelligent and very friendly animals. They often love to be held, petted, and snuggled. Rats can have a great deal of fun climbing up on people’s shoulders and arms, and can be trained to do a variety of behaviors. If you are looking for a small mammal that will want to spend time with you, rats make a wonderful choice.
It is best to house rats in a wire cage with bar spacing that is small enough to prevent escape. Rats require a good size cage to live in, with multiple levels to climb. We recommend a minimum of 2’x2’x2’ for one or two rats. Rats love to climb and explore, so two or three levels in the cage will be important as well. Just ensure that the flooring and ramps of the cage are not wire mesh, which can catch on a rat’s toes and limbs or cause other injury. Opt instead for a cage with solid metal or plastic flooring and ramps.
If you’d like to learn more about these two, submit an inquiry today!

Gerbils are nocturnal, very adventurous, tend to have a friendly nature and can be easy to hand tame! Gerbils are social creatures and should be housed with same-sex gerbils except for medical or behavioral reasons.
We recommend a 10 gallon or larger tank filled with about 2” of paper bedding or other nesting material. Nesting material should be loose, light, easy to manipulate, and of course safe. Enclosures should be well ventilated but kept out of direct drafts, and should provide plenty of enclosed opaque shelters for the gerbils to retreat into as desired. Annie is such a cute older thoroughbred mare! She could stand to gain some weight and muscle, but nothing that a little time and TLC can’t fix! She is in the middle of the herd she came in with and can be a bit bossy with her herd mates around food, but would make a great companion horse with a bit of management. She leads well and stands calmly for grooming, bathing. vet and farrier care. She can handle living out 24/7 or being stalled at night and out for the day – she is an adaptable girl! She is looking for a home as a companion-only horse as her riding days are behind her.
Meet Kiwi, Blueberry, and Coconut! These 3 musketeers are ready for their next home, and would prefer to stay together.
Budgerigars, the most common parakeet we see, are native to Australia where they live in massive flocks in the grasslands. Parakeets tend to be docile, gentle, can be easy to tame and can even talk! Despite their small size, these birds can have large vocabularies and can make a wonderful training companion. We recommend that parakeets live in pairs or groups whenever possible. Parakeets can live up to 7-15 years with proper nutrition and care, and can be a loyal companion.
We recommend a cage that is at least 27”x24” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ½” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of perches, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. Nests can be provided but should be removed if any females begin to lay eggs. We do not recommend a seed only diet as it can lead to malnutrition and other potential issues, please consult your vet for specific diet recommendations.
The needs of each parakeet are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the parakeet you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

More about Mi Nena:
I am a sweet, social, gorgeous little girl! I am friendly, I like to be pet, and I am very laid back. I snuggle with my people, I play with more interactive toys and I do great with scratching posts.
It is recommended that I have a slow introduction to my new home, litter box, and any existing pets while I settle in and become comfortable in my new surroundings. My adopter should be prepared to start me in one room and gradually give me more access to the home as I settle in.

Meet Spencer! This handsome, senior boy is so friendly and social. He makes a great welcoming committee, he loves to wiggle and wag whenever he meets new people. Spencer can be playful and loves to go for walks. He was housetrained in his previous home and relax at home on his own. Spencer would likely be okay with older kids, but would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He has been able to meet other dogs, but gets a little vocal when he sees dogs walking by. This charming man is just about the perfect mix of friendly and easygoing.
