Say hello to Samson! Samson is a shy potbelly pig that is looking for someone that is patient and willing to give him time to come out of his shell. He is not very familiar interacting with people, but he has already shown us that he is curious and willing to learn. Having lived with several pigs before, he could benefit from having a social pig friend to show him the ropes. Samson loves being outside, so would like a set up that allows him plenty of time rooting around in the dirt with shelter accessible for bad weather. Wallowing is one of his favorite activities and access to water would be a great bonus for him! If you are interested in learning more about Samson, please submit an adoption inquiry form.
Meet Luna! Equal parts sassy, snuggly, and hilarious, she’s the firecracker of your dreams. She’s got a few things that she still needs to learn about the world (some of the basics, building her confidence, what to do with all that sass!), but luckily, she’s one smart cookie. After learning some of the ropes, she would make the best adventure buddy! Luna has not lived with dogs or cats previously, but she may be able to with slow introductions. She may do well with children who are old enough to participate in her training.
If you think you are a good fit and would like to learn more, please click on the blue Inquire button above, fill out the form, and stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs.

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in – and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
Klaus is a super happy guy that loves attention from people! Sometimes his enthusiasm gets the best of him and he`s literally jumping for joy. His adopters will need to help him learn that four on the floor is the appropriate way to say hi to those he loves. Klaus and his siblings spent most of their time living outdoors before being tranfered to our shelter, so potential adopters should be excited to teach him all about living indoors and how to be a good member of society! Klaus is a smart guy that is already enjoying learning through positive rewards training. At just a year and half, he will need both physical exercise and mental enrichment, especially to help him decompress as he has had many changes in a short period of time. Giving Klaus an opportunity to settle in with just his family before venturing too far, will provide time to get acquainted and form a strong bond. Puppy proofing the home, even for adult dogs, helps dogs new to the home to make good choices, right from the start. Klaus should be able to join a home with a well matched resident dog or possibly a dog savvy cat. Sturdy kids that are comfortable with a large, sometimes bouncy dogs, will be considered. If this sweet, funny and affectionate guy sounds like he might be a good fit, please fill out the adoption inquiry form or stop by the adoption center during open hours to chat with staff!
Introducing Kai!
Are you ready to welcome the cutest velvet hippo to your family? Meet Kai, the one-of-a-kind pooch who is as irresistible as a freshly baked batch of cookies! Kai is a lovely dog with a personality that will make your heart melt and your cheeks ache from smiling too much.
Kai is a self-proclaimed “feline enthusiast” who is convinced she’s a cat trapped in a dog’s body. She’s great with cats so if you have a feline friend in need of a doggie buddy, Kai is the paw-fect match!
Now, here’s a little secret about Kai: she’s a diva who prefers to be the center of attention. She dreams of having a throne made of plush cushions where she can rule over her kingdom like the royal pup she truly is. But alas, she has one tiny request – she’d rather not share her kingdom with other dogs. You see, Kai believes that a queen like her deserves all the love and adoration to herself. Can you blame her?
If you think Kai would be a good fit for you, fill out an adoption inquiry or stop by our open hours!
This beauty, with the soulful eyes and sugar frosted face, is waiting to start her new big adventure. Lovely Uma is 7 years old and spent the majority of her life outside with a large group of dogs. This means that inside living will be a wonderful, new experience, that will most likely take time for her to adjust to. Uma is extremely sweet, has learned to walk on leash like a champ and is enjoying making new human friends at the shelter. Her adopters should plan on giving her plenty of time to settle in at her new home with just household members before expecting her to meet new people. This provides a great opportunity to bond with her while getting to know her personality and what makes her feel most comfortable. She may be able to join a home with a very mellow, older resident dog. Uma says no thank you to any cat friends. Any kids in the family should be old enough to understand and respect that inside living will be a big change for Uma and she will need lots of time to not feel overwhelmed. If you`d love to give a home to this very deserving dog, please fill out the adoption inquiry form or stop by the shelter during open hours to talk with staff.
This adorable tripod is Tyler! Having just three legs does not stop him from living life to the fullest! He loves to hang around with his human and dog friends alike (he has a lot of energy and comes in fast while meeting other canine friends, but seems to enjoy puppies the most!) Tyler loves to sit on his dog bed and play with his favorite toys! He does lack in some manners so he needs a home who will work with him and give him the training he needs. Come down and meet Tyler today!
Doves can be tamed but tend to be more “hands off” birds. They tend to vocalize throughout the day with a “coo”, dissimilar to the screeching or whistling of many other birds. Doves can be found around the world, and can live up to 10 years with proper nutrition and care. We recommend that doves live in pairs or groups whenever possible.
We recommend a cage that is at least 32”x23” (Width x depth) with a maximum of ?-¾” bar spacing. Cages should include lots of flat surfaces to perch on, trays for food/water and lots of toys for enrichment. Unlike many other species of birds, doves are unable to climb up cage bars, and tend to move back and forth making a wider cage more appealing to them. Doves should be provided with regular opportunities for bathing, and unlike parrots require grit as part of their regular diet to aid in digestion.
The needs of each dove are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the dove you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

This large spunky lady bun is Chloe. Yes, she’s carrying around lots of extra poundage and she has a huge personality to match. Chloe is looking for adopters with rabbit experience who will be able to read her body language and will be patient as she settles into her new life. At the shelter, Chloe has been curious but skittish. While her rolls of fat may be endearing, it is really important that Chloe’s family has a close relationship with their vet to help her get back to a healthy weight safely.
If you think you are a good fit and would like to learn more, please click on the blue Inquire button above and fill out the form. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed.
*Before coming to the adoption center, we ask that you have a housing unit ready, in case you end up finding an animal you’d like to adopt. We adopt our rabbits to live indoors only and in exercise pens instead of cages. Rabbits need a minimum 8 sqft of space enclosed by an exercise pen; plus access to an additional 24 sqft of space outside of their enclosure to exercise and play in for a minimum of 4 hours daily with supervision.

Meet Rexa! She is a 2 year old adorable pup who is ready for her new home! Rexa is a super sweet girl who loves people. Like any young, active pup, she is still learning to keep all 4 paws on the ground when it is time to greet her human friends. Her ideal adopters will be excited to continue to work more with her when it comes to keep her paws on the ground and learning basic manners. Rexa LOVES her canine friends too. She may even do well with a well matched canine sibling (or 2!).
Todd is ready to find a new home of their own! We’re not sure what these little pups are mixed with, but we think they will likely be on the larger side. They are all still learning the ropes and will need a patient family to teach them all the doggie basics like walking on a leash and housetraining. They could likely go to a home with another dog who wants an annoying younger sibling to be role model to. These puppies have been through lots of transitions in their short lives and are looking for a home that can help them figure out the world in a safe and fun way!
Introducing Roxy! This gentle giant is as wonderful as she is large. Roxy is looking for a family who can work with their vet to help her get down to a healthier weight. Luckily, she has enjoyed meeting new people and going for leisurely walks, so we expect her to bring that same enthusiasm to exercise! Roxy is not interested in living with another dog, but could do well with children who can be respectful of her boundaries when she needs breaks.

This handsome guy is definitely all about the people. He`s ready to go for a walk, hike or just hang out with you. Bo is just two years old and was a bit worried when he came to the shelter, so his adopters should plan on keeping his world small at first. Just hanging around at home with household members will give Bo time to bond with his adopters while they learn what makes this good boy happy and comfortable. While a dog friend in the home is a possibility, he may be just as happy as the only dog. No cats for this guy! Older kids that can participate in training and is comfortable with a sometimes bouncy dog, will be considered. This sweet boy will be your best friend, if interested in more information, please fill out the adoption inquiry form or stop by the shelter during open hours to talk to staff.
This beautiful bean is Clara. She is the sweetest and most loving cat. She loves to lounge, sunbathe and watch birds from the window. Her nickname in her previous southern foster home was “lovebug” because she is full of love! She enjoys sleeping in bed and cuddling up for a movie night.
Clara has a progressive case of FeLV – or Feline Leukemia Virus – which could shorten her lifespan, and we are hoping to find her a loving indoor-only home where she can live out her life. FeLV cats should only live with other FeLV positive cats or be the only cat in the household. Interested adopters should click the inquire button below to learn more and shelter staff will provide additional counseling on FeLV and answer any questions at the time of adoption.
More info on FeLV can be found here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951934

Meet Grahams, aka the life of the party! She’s a silly, sassy gal who loves a good snuggle as much as she loves her zoomies. With her sleek, silvery coat and her amber eyes, she’ll be sure to sweep you off your feet. We think she could be a great adventure buddy with a little time and patience. She could likely live with another dog with slow introductions – as long as they are ok with making an energetic friend! She has no history living with a cat or children.

Izzy is a 13-year-old pittie who still loves to bounce and play like a pup! She’s looking for a loving home where she can spend her golden years in comfort and happiness.
Despite her age, Izzy is still full of life and has a lot of love to give. She is a sweet and gentle dog who has a good history living with other dogs, although a rambuctious puppy may be too much for her! She loves to socialize and play, but she’s also content to just relax and enjoy the sunshine. Her favorite activity is rolling around in the grass, so if you have a backyard, she’ll be in heaven!
If you think Izzy would be a good fit for you, fill out an adoption inquiry or stop by our open hours!
